Secretary Tillerson Suspends Visit To Nigeria

United States' Secretary of State, Mr. Rex Tillerson has suspended his trip to Nigeria to attend to an urgent assignment back home.

Tillerson, who was scheduled to visit Nigeria would return to Washington, a day ahead of his scheduled visit to the country.

Tillerson was expected to land in Abuja on Monday in what would have beeen his first official visit to the country.

According to a report on Reuters, Tillerson would now leave Africa to arrive US early Tuesday morning as against his previous plan of returning on Tuesday night.

Recall that Tillerson's spokesperson, Steve Goldstein had earlier told reporters that the Secretary developed undisclosed illness fine during his visit to Kenya. 
This was said to be part of the reason he is cancelling his visit to Nigeria.

It was earlier reported that the Secretary of State would be holding a press conference at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday with the Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

A Press Advisory from the U.S. Embassy had said that Tillerson would hold talks with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.
