Men of the Nigeria Police Force are currently picketing the office of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja branch.
Confirming the incidence, Barrister Adesina Ogunlana, Chairman of NBA, Ikeja told SaharaReporters that his office is currently under "invasion" by the police.
Ikeja NBA has been under attack since lawyers of the branch led a protest to reject the increment in Land Use Charge introduced by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
When contacted, Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, refused to give any response saying he cannot speak with journalist over the phone.
The state’s Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, also stated that he has not been briefed of the action and therefore can’t comment on it.
The Ikeja branch of Nigeria Bar Association and some civil societies are to hold a second protest against the increased land use fee.
Coincidentally, President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to pay a visit to the state tomorrow.
