Buhari’s Aide Blast PDP Over Uncompleted Projects

The special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on digital/new media, Tolu Ogunlesi, on Thursday described opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as 'irresponsible and chasers of cheap glory.'

Mr. Ogunlesi was reacting to claims by Kola Ologbodinyan, the spokesperson of the opposition party indicating that Buhari’s administration has not initiated and completed any project on its own since it came into power.

But Ogunlesi said the PDP administration abandoned thousands of projects which President Buhari's government has been painstakingly completing one after the other since it took office.

Ologboniyan wrote “Anyone on this street (twitter) that can name one infrastructural development project initiated and completed by @MBuhari since he assumed office would get a 50k prize from me.

But Ogunlesi replying, said, "Only an irresponsible government would set aside important abandoned projects to instead be chasing the cheap glory of ‘we started our own!”

The two leading political parties have intensified their war of words, which began when PDP chairman, Uche Secondus, offered unsolicited apology to Nigerians over mistakes made by the party when it was in power from 1999 to 2016.

But the ruling All Progressives Congress had asked the opposition party to also return funds stolen by its members when it was in power.

The request culminated in publication of alleged list of looters of public funds by both parties.

As the 2019 general election approaches both parties will unarguably intensify the accusations and counter accusation as they seek to gain support from Nigerians.
