Lagos State government has said that new investors for the 4th mainland bridge will be announced in June.

Mr Adebowale Akinsanya, the state commissioner of works and infrastructure said this while addressing news men at a press conference held to mark the third anniversary of Governor Akinwumi Ambode.

The contract for the bridge, which was previously awarded in May 2017, was terminated because of delay in the commencement of work.

According to him, the cost of the previous contract was N884bn.

Adebowale said, “We are at the last phase of selecting the preferred bidders. I believe the bidders would be announced by June.”

Highlighting the achievement of Ambode, Akinsanya said that the administration of Ambode between May 2017 and April 2018 has completed 55 roads with a total of 129 kilometers and 48 building projects while 25 roads and 17 building projects were under construction.

The Commissioner also said that the state has been working to deliver projects that will have direct impact on the lives of all Lagos residents.

He further maintained that the commitment of the state to infrastructural renewal, expansion, upgrading and regeneration is borne out of the fact that an efficient and integrated transport system can only be achieved through the provision of appropriate infrastructure.
