An early-morning rain has led to the collapse of a bridge in Abuja.

A statement by the spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Bisi Kazeem, said the bridge that collapsed is after Mowo Junction, 18km  from Mokwa-Jebba Road.

Kazeem said that the collapse was due to a heavy rainfall.

He said the collapse of the bridge has affected vehicular movements from both sides of the road and advised motorists to take Lokoja Road if travelling to Lagos and Abuja, in the interim.
