Ejiagwu, popularly known as ‘Ohaneze’, was one of the 27 LGAs chairmen inaugurated just on Monday by David Nwafor, the new state chairman of the party.
Dasuki Galandanchi, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, confirmed the murder, saying the remains of the deceased had been deposited at a nearby mortuary.
Similarly, Nwafor confirmed the tragedy, calling on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to pressure the CP into apprehending the culprits.
“The deceased was in our meeting on Thursday and he expressed concerns about political violence in his area,” he said.
