Thousands of angry youth from the southern senatorial district of Ondo State have shut down vehicular and business activities on the popular Benue-Ore-Lagsos Expressway to protest seven years power outage in the district.

Kunle Wiseman Ajayi, leader of the protesters, told Sahara Reporters that there had been uninterrupted blackout in six local government areas of the state, particularly in Okitipupa and Irele, for six years.

Kunle said the youth decided to shut down vehicular movement in Ore to register their grievances towards the Federal Government.

He also accused armed security agents of arresting over 30 youth who were planning to join the ongoing protest in Ore.

Sahara Reporters observes that passengers travelling through the Benin-Ore Expressway are currently stranded, as activities have been totally paralysed on the busy road.
