BREAKING: Acting President Osinbajo In Closed-Door Meeting With Senate Majority Leader

Lawan, whrepresents Yobe North Constituency at the National Assembly, arrived the villa shortly after 2pm and proceeded straight to the Acting President’s office.

Yemi Osinbajo, Acting President, is currently locked in a closed-door meeting with Ahmed Lawan, Majority leader of the Senate.

Lawan, who represents Yobe North Constituency at the National Assembly, arrived the villa shortly after 2pm and proceeded straight to the Acting President’s office.

Also attending the meeting is Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate).

The meeting apparently dwelled, in part or in full, on President Muhammadu Buhari's request for virement of funds fot the 2019 general election, as Lawan addressed the media after the meeting, urging the National Assembly to reconvene as soon as possible to pass the virement and supplementary budget of the President.

"It is essential for the National Assembly to reconvene as the Government and other aspects of National Development is almost stalled," he said. “If the National Assembly does not reconvene, it would mean turning against the country, stealing from the government and fighting the people”.
