Senate President Bukola Saraki made an entry to the National Assembly on Tuesday afternoon shortly after the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) left the premises.

Saraki walked into the complex amid jubilations and exchanged some pleasantries with lawmakers who were still in the building.

However, he left with his aides a few minutes after.

Some DSS officials earlier barricaded entrance into the National Assembly, an action Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, said was in compliance “from the above”.

However, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said the siege at the National Assembly was unauthorized, and therefore sacked the Director General of the DSS, Lawal Daura.

Daura is from the same Local Government Area with President Muhammadu Buhari, who approved the sack.
