Following the “uncommon” defection – as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole describes it – of former Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West district, Godswill Akpabio, media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has questioned the APC on the move.

Akpabio, on Wednesday, officially defected from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Tinubu was all smiles at the rally held in Akwa Ibom on Wednesday to welcome Akpabio into the APC fold, as the duo did the ‘official broom exchange’.

However, Omokri, via his Twitter handle, @renoomokri, on Thursday, in his reaction to Tinubu’s statement at the rally, had particularly directed his enquiry to the APC chieftain.

He wrote: “Dear Tinubu, you said PDP’s 16-year rule in Akwa Ibom was a waste. Victor Attah ruled the first eight years. Akpabio ruled the second eight years. Both men are now in the APC. My question is this: Is APC a waste recycling plant?”

He went on to ‘absolve’ the PDP, stating that “If so, then PDP has recycled its waste to APC and is now clean!”
