BREAKING: Saraki In Abeokuta For Closed-Door Meeting With Obasanjo

Monday’s meeting comes after a similar one Saraki held with Ibrahim Babangida, former Military President, at his Minna, Niger State home, last Wednesday.

Bukola Senate, Senate President, is currently meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo behind closed doors.

According to multiple sources, Saraki arrived Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion inside the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Monday evening, and immediately proceeded into a closed-door meeting with the former President.

The meeting with Babangida held hours after the Senate President held a ‘World press Conference’ during which he refused to answer a question on whether or not he intends to contest the 2019 presidential election.

Since his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Saraki’s former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has continued to demand his impeachment.

But Saraki has maintained that he will not quit the position unless he is removed by two-thirds majority of the Senate.

Saraki similarly visited Obasanjo shortly after he became Senate President in June 2015 at a time the APC National Working Committee (NWC) was plotting to diminish his powers due to their unhappiness with his manner of emergence.

With him in Abeokuta at the time were Senators Ahmed Yerima, Tayo Alasoadura, Andy Uba, Danjuma Goje and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
