BREAKING: Kaduna Assembly Removes Deputy Speaker After Defecting From APC To PDP

Audu-Kwaturu and another lawmaker, Junaidu Yakubu, who represents Kudan Constituency, had defected from APC to PDP, but Aminu Abdullahi Shaghali, Speaker of the Assembly, said since there was no crisis or rancour in APC at both the state and the national levels, Audu-Kwaturu had to forfeit his position.

John Audu-Kwaturu, the lawmaker representing Kachia Constituency, has lost his position as Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly following his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The lawmakers therefore elected Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, the member representing Kagarko Constituency as the new Deputy Speaker, following nomination by Dahiru Liman, the lawmaker representing Makera Constituency, and seconding by Ahmed Mohammed, who represents Zaria Kewaye Constituency.

Until his emergence as the new Deputy Speaker, Shadalafiya was Chairman of the House Committee on Information.
