'We Can't Be Sending The Same Old Men To Represent Us', Says 35-Year-Old House Of Reps Aspirant

"There is no development in this town," he said. "We can't be sending same old men to represent us always. And I believe I am the right person to bring the desired change and development to this town."

Tajudeen Adefisoye, a 35-year-old who has indicated his interest in contesting as a member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), says the time has come for the youth to show that they can perform in leadership positions in politics.

Speaking at his official declaration of intent on Friday, Adefisoye said he decided to choose SDP as his political platform because the party has good plans for youth with political ambitions.

He added that he joined the race in order to bring about real development for the people.

"There is no development in this town," he said.

"We can't be sending same old men to represent us always. And I believe I am the right person to bring the desired change and development to this town."

Korode Duyile, Chairman of SDP, declared support for Adefisoye, urging the youth to rise up by actively participating in politics.

"The youth need to take their place in this country by coming out to contest for elective positions," he said. "The pparty membership is already increasing in Idanre; and in the state, more people, especially the youth, are seeing our party as a credible platform to fulfil their dreams."
