JUST IN: Police 'Arrest' Two Officers Over Shooting Of Student In Osun

Two police officers have been taken into custody, following the shooting of Tunde Omologo, a student, in Iwo, Osun State.

Two Police officers have been taken into custody, following the shooting of a student in Iwo, Osun State, on Thursday.

Abayomi Shogunle, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Head of the Police Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), made this known on Friday via his Twitter handle.

The student, Tunde Omologo, was shot at Ajangbala Eleha at Iwo yesterday. It is still unclear what led to the shooting.

According to the PCRRU. the Osun Commisioner of Police held a meeting with relatives and the community earlier on Friday.

According to Shogunle, who condemned the shooting, two police officers are in custody, and investigations are ongoing.

A tweet read: "No justification for the shooting that led to the death of Tunde Omologo at Iwo. In addition to @PoliceNG_PCRRU actions #PCRRU202284, I have also contacted Commissioner of Police, Osun State, 2 officers taken into custody. Be assured, @PoliceNG will ensure justice. #NoToImpunity" 

A Police station was said to have been razed down on Friday, in protest of the student's murder.
