Reno Omokri, ex-media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has condemned the rejection of a consensus candidate by the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT).

On Thursday, PACT had agreed to field Fela Durotoye, presidential aspirant contesting on the platform of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), as its consensus candidate for the 2019 elections.

However, hours after he attended the meeting, Kingsley Moghalu, another presidential aspirant, rejected the outcome, insisting that he would still present himself as a presidential candidate on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).

Omokri expressed disappointment in the development, stating that it did not portray the participants as better than those they claimed to condemn.

A tweet via his handle read: “So disappointing that the youthful Presidential aspirants who willingly entered an arrangement with the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) now reject the consensus outcome because it did not favour them. How are they then better than those they condemn?”
