Student-Artist Paints el-Rufai In Two Minutes; Sells Portrait For N2m

Seun Adebayo, a 200 level Fine Arts student of Ahmadu Bello University, has become a millionaire for the first time in his career as an artist.

After painting Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna State Governor, in a record two-minute feat, Seun Adebayo, a 200 level Fine Arts student of Ahmadu Bello University has become a millionaire for the first time in his career as an artist.

He achieved the feat at the Kaduna Emerging Young Leaders Summit, held in Kaduna, on Saturday.

His painting was bought within five minutes by Mohammed Mamadi, a member of the House of Representatives, through an auction.

Speaking to NAN, Adebayo said: “The highest I ever made was N500,000. I really thanked the organisers of the event for this life changing opportunity. I am so happy and feel so encouraged".

Abubakar Umar, another artist, also did a pencil drawing of the governor.

The summit was organised by the Kaduna State Government as part of efforts to engage youths on national development.
