Boko Haram has killed Saifura Husseini Ahmed, one of the three humanitarian workers it abducted in Rann, Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State, on March 1
Ahmed was shot behind by a member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram.

“We were there for the vulnerable, now we are vulnerable,” they said tearily in the audio, produced just before mid-August.
“For the sake of God, for the sake of Allah, President Muhammadu Buhari, come and help us. Come and vindicate us from this captivity. We need your help; we need your help. Have mercy and help us.”
“To all our fellow Nigerians, we are pleading for God’s sake, come and vindicate us from this captivity.
“We are children of the nation. Today, being Saturday, the 13th of August [Saturday was 11th August] come and vindicate us. Our organizations, we were there for the vulnerable, but today we are vulnerable.[story_link align="left"]59827[/story_link]
“Come and hear our cry for mercy. Our family, our children, the nation at large needs us back. They have given us their last warning, that after this they will take action that will shock everyone. For the sake God, for the sake of Allah, President Muhammadu Buhari come to our rescue and help us and vindicate us.
“Help us; we are three: a nurse and two midwives captured in Rann, Kalabalge on the 1st March, 2018 [while] working with UNICEF and Red Cross organizations. The world powers, whatever you can do, come and help us. We are really vulnerable. We need your help. We need your help. Have mercy and help us.”
The three health workers penned a similar letter back in May, writing that they were “really helpless and hopeless” in captivity and would like to regain their freedom, as they were needed back home by their families.
“With heartfelt gratitude, we wish to extent out warm greetings to our dear families, relations and the entire people of our nation. We are the Nurse/Midwives that were captured by Junudul Khalifa under Abu Musab Albarnawi,” they had said in a handwritten note.
“We are pleading and begging with heavy hearts to our humble President Muhammadu Buhari to hear our cry for mercy and look into our situation and vindicate us from this captivity.
“Our dear children, husbands, relations and the entire nation need us back home. To our able organisations, please hear our cry for mercy. We are really helpless and hopeless; please rescue us and vindicate us, our families need us back and the entire nation at large.”
Ngaddah’s aged mother died unexpectedly in April as a result of the trauma of her abduction.
