‘Quintessential Ijaw Man’ — Bayelsa Govt To Honour Seiyefa For His ‘Exemplary National Service’

September 18, 2018

In a press release made to SaharaReporters by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, Dickson said Seiyefa, who hails from Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state, is a “quintessential Ijaw man and a great ambassador of Bayelsa”.

Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State, has commended the immediate past acting Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Matthew Seiyefa, for his “exemplary national service”.

He said in recognition of his meritorious service to the nation, the state government will honour him at a grand reception soon.

Seiyefa was briefly acting DSS DG following the sacking of Lawal Daura, but he was replaced by Yusuf Bichi, a retired director of the service, last week.

He said the former DSS boss had a distinguished and meritorious 35 years of service to the nation, for which the Ijaw nation is proud.

“It is unfortunate that the country was denied the full benefits of Mr. Seiyefa’s continued exemplary services,” Dickson said.

“We thank the Federal Government, however, for the opportunity given to him to head the agency within these few days. Bayelsa State stands prepared to take optimum advantage of his availability and his experience to serve the state in several capacities. The state government is planning a formal reception in his honour.”
