Moshood Adeoti, the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for Osun State, has denied withdrawing from the Osun State governorship election holding on September 22.

Adeoti said he had not formed any alliance with Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), as being speculated by his supporters.

He stated this in an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters on Thursday, through Kayode Agbaje, Director of Media and Publicity of his campagn organisation.

The ADP candidate and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) said he harbours no plan of stepping down, but to win the election.

He said: "Alhaji Moshood Adeoti is still very much in the race and with God and the people behind him, victory is certain.

"So, he has not stepped down for anyone, we are participating in the election and by God's grace we will win.

"We are not in alliance with anybody, but only cooperating to ensure free and fair election in the Saturday poll.

"I wish to assure all our supporters across all the party lines and ADP members, specifically, to disregard such rumour and stay focused on our mission to win the election."

During a press conference, Omisore had said some candidates participating in the poll had signed an agreement to work together to ensure that the election is credible.

The SDP candidate mentioned ADP as one of the parties in the agreement, added that he was favoured by the decision.
