Ben Murray-Bruce, the senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, escaped being mobbed by a whisker as he was confronted by some angry youth after his screening exercise at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on Friday.

SaharaReporters learnt that the youth were angry because they had not felt the influence of his representation of the constituency.

They blocked his vehicle and demanded that the senator “drops” some money before leaving the party secretariat, on the premise that his presence at the National Assembly had not translated to much impact in the area.

Ebi Kaka, one of the angry youth, said: “The senator has neglected us since he was elected and now he is seeking re-election."
