Delta ADP Chair Dumps Party Over 'Pressing Personal Challenges'

David Ekuetafia, Chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Delta State chapter of the has dumped the party.

Ekuetafia disclosed this in a statement made available to pressmen in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Friday.

Although, Ekuetafia did not disclose if he had joined another party, he said he took the decision after consultations with his family and political associates across the state.

He said: “After due consultations with my immediate family and political associates, I hereby formally inform you that I have resigned my position as a member as well as the chairman of ADP in Delta State.

“This is to enable me take care of some pressing personal challenges and to also plan my future political and other endeavours.

“However, I wish to sincerely appreciate all of you for the wonderful support and encouragement that I enjoyed from the leadership of the party at all levels during the period of my stay as a member and chairman of the party in the state.”

He joined the ADP upon its formation and subsequently became the chairman of the state chapter of the party after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party.
