BREAKING: At Disu, Orolu LG, Residents Refuse To Vote After Threats, Attack By 'APC Thugs'

"They are beating people even in front of soldiers," one of the residents told SaharaReporters.

Residents of Disu in Orolu Local Government Area have refused to vote in the Osun rerun governorship election until adequate security is provided in the area.

According to the residents, they were attacked on their farms on Wednesday by thugs they accused of being loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The residents alleged that the thugs threatened them against coming out to vote today, stating that if they did so, they would regret it.

They said most of them could not sleep in their homes on Wednesday night, as the safety of their lives could not be guaranteed.

An elderly woman, who spoke with SaharaReporters, accused the security operatives of condoning the situation, stating that "they are beating people even in front of soldiers".
