BREAKING: Obasanjo 'Congratulates President-To-Be Atiku Abubakar'

Obasanjo is set to address the media at the end of the meeting, with his media team confirming to Saharareporters that he had already "congratulated President-To-Be Atiku Abubakar".

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will be backing Atiku Abubakar, his former deputy, ahead of the 2019 presidential election, having described him as "President-to-be" following a meeting between the two men in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State, on Thursday.

Joining Atiku at the meeting were his righthand man and former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the party; and, more notably, Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah; islamic preacher, Dr. Ahmad Abubkaar Gumi; and Founder of Winners' Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.[story_link align="left"]63849[/story_link]
