Hassan Mijinyawa, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has been released by his abductors after spending four days in captivity.

The release of Mijinyawa is, however, shrouded in controversy as the abductors who earlier demanded a ransom of N100million were reported to have released their victim unconditionality.

A Government House source, who confided in SaharaReporters, disclosed that a ransom of N22million was paid to secure the freedom of the CPS.

Dan Abu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor, confirmed his release.

He said the CPS was released unconditional in the early hours of Sunday, and has been reunited with his family.
