Two policemen have been shot dead in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Unknown gunmen on Friday night stormed Odeme Hotels at Alamieyeseigha road in Yenagoa, killing two policemen on guard.

The hotel is owned by Emmanuel Paulker, the senator representing Bayelsa Central in the National Assembly.

The gunmen shot sporadically, and also carted away two service rifles belonging to the policemen.

An eyewitness told SaharaReporters that the shooting lasted for about 30 minutes.

“I don’t know where the men came from, but there was serious shooting and most us living around there had to take cover. When we came, we heard that they killed the policemen.”
