Man Who Raped Pregnant Woman, Others Nabbed In Bayelsa

The victim, a 4-month-old pregnant woman narrated how the suspect broke into her home two weeks ago, and raped her at gunpoint, while her husband was away.

Knakumo Aniso, 27, a suspected serial rapist has been apprehended by a team of Bayelsa State Volunteers at popular Tombia Market in Yenagoa the state capital on Monday.

One victim who is a 4-month-old pregnant woman narrated how the suspect broke into her home two weeks ago, and raped her at gunpoint, while her husband was away.

She said that all her pleas fell on deaf ears as the suspect eventually had his way. 

Another victim, Peace, also narrated her ordeal in the hands of the suspect said she was raped two days ago by the suspect and his gang under the popular Tombia bridge and her phone was also forcefully taken.

She added, that she was held at gunpoint while on board a tricycle popularly known Keke Napep.

Knakumo, however, was out of luck as he was arrested by personnel of the volunteers group through a tip-off.

The suspect has been handed over to men of the Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa Command, for further investigation and prosecution.
