Xenophobia: Activists Vow To Shutdown Shoprite In Abuja Wednesday

The activists said the protest would give them the opportunity to stand with their compatriots killed in South Africa.

In retaliate to xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, human rights activist have vowed to occupy and shutdown all Shoprite outlets in Abuja on Wednesday.

The activists said the protest would give them the opportunity to stand with their compatriots killed in South Africa.

Confirming the move, one of the protest leaders, Raphael Adebayo, said, “In response to the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, we have decided to occupy Shoprite in Jabi, Abuja, on Wednesday by 9:30am.”

The latest attacks on Nigerians have seen to the looting and burning down of over 50 shops belonging to Nigerians.
