Smart Adeyemi, senator representing Kogi West district in the upper arm of Nigeria's legislature has taken the oath of office as lawmaker for his constinutency.
Adeyemi was sworn in during Wednesday's plenary session of the Senate.
He was declared winner of the rerun election in the constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission after defeating Dino Melaye.
The court had nullified Melaye's initial election and ordered a fresh exercise, which eventually led to his defeat.
