Government To Arraign Cooperate Affairs Commission Boss Over False Asset Declaration

The Nigerian Government is set to arraign the Acting Registrar-General of the Cooperate Affairs Commission, Azuka Obiageli, before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, over false assets declaration.

Obiageli is to be arraigned at the CCT on December 18 on 11-count charges bordering on non-declaration of assets.

Head, Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Al-Hassan, said this while noting that CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar, had approved the date.

Al-Hassan added that Obiageli had been served with the tribunal summon.

According to the CCT, the offences Obiageli committed violates the provisions of Paragraph 1, 9 and 11 (1) (a), (2), of the Fifth Schedule, Part1 and is punishable under paragraph 18 (1) and (2) of the constitution.

“The charge was signed by the operative of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Musa Ibrahim Usman, on November 20, 2019, for the Hon. Attorney-General of the Federation,” Al-Hassan said.
