The Kano State Government has imposed a total lockdown of the city for seven days as part of efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
In a tweet on Tuesday by Salihu Tanko Yakasai, media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the lockdown will take effect from Thursday.
Kano currently has four cases of Coronavirus
Yakasai said security agencies have been ordered to arrest anyone violating the order.
He said, “H.E @GovUmarGanduje has ordered for a complete lockdown of Kano State from Thursday 16th of April, and the lockdown is expected to last for initial seven days.
“There will be no movement in the state and security agencies have been ordered to arrest anyone violating this order.”
