EFCC Arrests Three Dubai-Based Internet Fraudsters, 14 Others In Lagos

According to EFCC, the suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested three Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based suspected internet fraudsters, Samuel Olayinka, Afeez Fajumobi and Olamide Olaofe, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The arrest was made by the EFCC zonal office, Lagos, as the operatives swooped on 14 other suspected fraudsters in different parts of the state.

The agency said in a statement that the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, January 26, and Wednesday 27, 2021 at different locations following a series of intelligence detailing their alleged involvement in internet fraud and other related offences in Nigeria and abroad.

“The Dubai-based suspects who were arrested at Victory Nest Estate, Jakande, Lekki, Lagos State, on January 27, 2021, were identified as Samuel Olayinka, Afeez Fajumobi and Olamide Olaofe, while their accomplices caught with them include Amao Oluwatobi, Amao Joshua, Adeyemo Olatunde, Solomon Emelike, Lawrence Nwodu and Philip Olamilekan."

"Others suspects who were arrested at 41c, Muritala Eletu Osapa London, Lekki area of Lagos on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, include Ogbenusi Ibrahim, Kelechi Ndubuka, Sadiq Adewale, John Eze, Adewale Lateef, Hassan Mohammed, Tunde Lawal and Hussaini Adebayo."

According to EFCC, the suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
