JUST IN: Gombe Government Imposes 24-hour Curfew In Three Communities Over Communal Clash

The amnouncement was made on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who explained that the decision had to be taken because of the violence experienced in the communities.

Gombe State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Nyuwar, Jessu and Yolde communities in the Balanga Local Government Area of the state with immediate effect. 

The amnouncement was made on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who explained that the decision had to be taken because of the violence experienced in the communities.

According to the SSG, the curfew becomes necessary to douse the tension and restore peace and order in the affected areas. 

He noted that security personnel have been deployed to restore normalcy in the affected areas and stressed that the curfew will be in place until further notice, Tribune reports.
