Protest Rocks Top Nigeria's Agriculture University In Ogun Over Abduction of Student

The protest was held Monday at the school’s main gate with students carrying placards with different inscriptions while chanting.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) students have protested the abduction of their colleague, Toyinbo Olayinka from a farm in the city by unknown gunmen.

On Saturday, Olayinka, a 400 level student of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, was kidnapped at Abule-Itoko on the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was learnt that the abductors demanded a ransom of N50 million.[story_link align="left"]94367[/story_link]

Head of Directorate of Public Relations, FUNAAB, noted that the management of the university had reported the abduction at the state police command headquarters, Eleweeran and that it was working with the command to ensure the safety and release of the kidnapped student.
