Nigerian Man Murdered In South Africa, Police Launch Investigation

A passer-by who was en route to work first spotted the body.

Police investigation has been launched into the murder of a Nigerian national, Paul Okechukwu, whose body was found in St Georges in Gqeberha, South Africa.

Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, the police spokesperson stated that the body of 36-year-old Okechukwu was pointed out by a local security company in Park Drive by 8 am on Tuesday.

According to her, Okechukwu sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

It is alleged that a passer-by who was en route to work first spotted the body.

Janse Van Rensburg says Okechukwu’s white Mercedes Benz was found parked nearby and has been impounded for further investigation.

She said the motive for the murder was still unknown and that anyone who could assist with information relating to the case could contact the police.
