Three Workers Of IPOB Lawyer, Ejiofor Taken Away By Police, Army Feared Killed

SaharaReporters reported on Sunday that the operatives shot dead Ejiofor’s Personal Assistant, identified as Samuel Uzo Okoro, also known as Biggy.

The three domestic staff members of the Indigenous People of Biafra's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who were raided and taken away by the army and police personnel last Sunday, have yet to be located, fuelling fears that they might have been killed by the operatives.

SaharaReporters reported on Sunday that the operatives shot dead Ejiofor’s Personal Assistant, identified as Samuel Uzo Okoro, also known as Biggy.

They thereafter took away his corpse in the boot of a vehicle belonging to the lawyer.

In an update provided to SaharaReporters by civil society organisation, the International Society for Civil Liberty and Rule of Law, three of the lawyer's relatives were still abducted by the military men.

“There is fear that the security personnel; power-drunk and desperate to shed blood in the South-East might have killed the three domestic workers. They were raided and taken to an unknown location. They have not been able to contact their families, lawyers or anyone since Sunday.

“Let the world know that this forced disappearance by the army and the police are not only unconstitutional but against the tenets of democracy,” a source stated.

Ejiofor, whose residence was invaded by the army and police personnel last weekend, himself on Tuesday demanded the "immediate and unconditional release" of his domestic workers, who were whisked away.

Ejiofor in a statement he signed on Tuesday noted that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police told him that the security operatives were not from him.

The IPOB lawyer called on the Inspector General of Police, the Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of State Security Services “to immediately investigate their personnel that invaded my peaceful home, killed, stole and destroyed my valuables.”

He said, “Can we take it that some elements who are hugely benefiting from the hostilities in our region is after my life, apparently they are enjoying the present genocide going on in the South-East which my intervention was designed to curtail?

"Interestingly the Anambra State Police Commissioner confirmed to me that he was never aware of the operation. How did these killers in army and police uniform drive all the way from Abuja to Anambra to unleash mayhem without notifying the CP of the state?

"I therefore, demand for the immediate and unconditional release of my domestic staff abducted from my home during this unprovoked attack.”
