Gunmen Kill Wife Of Ex-Commissioner In Oyo

He is also a former Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area.

Unknown gunmen on Friday morning killed the wife of Peter Odetomi, a former commissioner in Oyo State. 

SaharaReporters gathered that the woman was killed at their family house in Ashi, Bodija, Ibadan.

Odetomi was the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and later the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in the administration of Abiola Ajimobi. 

He is also a former Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area. 

A resident of the area, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Ibadan, said the gunmen stormed the area on a motorbike. 

"It is true. I saw people rushing to our area now. Someone called my attention to it a few minutes ago. It happened around 10 am on Friday. I heard they came on a motorcycle," the source said. 

As of the time of filing this report, our correspondent has yet to get the full details of the incident.

Our correspondent reports that about seven killings have occurred in the state in less than two weeks.

Efforts to get the police public relations officer in the state, Adewale Osifeso were not successful as he did not answer his calls nor reply to text messages sent to his mobile line.
