The judge therefore adjourned the case till September 8 for continuation of the hearing of the case.

SaharaReporters had reported that lawyers Adebayo Adegbite and I.A. Saka, who were in court to defend five among the suspects, pleaded with the judge to consider the heavy downpour and delay hearing of the case for 30 minutes to avail their colleagues to be in court.

The judge declined, saying if he could make it to court, the defence counsels had no excuse.

Among the 11 suspects arrested for the EndSARS protest, nine were in court.

Those charged are; Adesina Ademuyiwa, Ikechukwu Eze, Ariyo Sodiq, Ikennan Amaechi, Oyewole Olumide, Ariyo Afeez, Taoreed Abiodun, Lowoori Ajadi, Sikiru Lukman, Adekunle Maroof, and Rasheed Tiamiyu.

I. A Saka, who is the counsel to Oyewole Olumide, had earlier told the court that his other colleagues were not in court due to the heavy downpour in the town.

SaharaReporters learnt that the prosecutor, Sandra Tella, along with the Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case, presented the exhibits recovered from the suspects before the judge.
