Ex-President, Obasanjo Was Right That Fani-Kayode Goes To Where There’s Food – Senator Abaribe

September 18, 2021

Abaribe said Fani-Kayode’s defection confirmed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s remark about his character.

The senator representing Abia South in the National Assembly, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has reacted to the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Abaribe said Fani-Kayode’s defection confirmed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s remark about his character.

Fani-Kayode had officially joined APC on Thursday during a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House – an action which drew condemnation from several quarters.

The lawyer-turned-politician was presented to Buhari by the acting National Chairman of the APC, Mai Mala-Buni.

Reacting to the defection, Abaribe described Fani-Kayode as a confused human being.

Appearing on Arise TV, the Senate Minority Leader said: “I do not want to dwell on his issue. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had said it all before ‘Femi Fani-Kayode is my boy. Provide him food, he will eat and then sing for you. He’s a smart boy.”

The Senate Minority Leader recalled that Obasanjo once said Fani-Kayode would always go to where there is “food.”

Abaribe also stressed that the PDP would return to power in 2023.

He stressed that the APC has done nothing good for Nigeria since assuming power in 2015.

“No one can really pinpoint any good thing done by APC since 2015. The PDP will win the presidential election in 2023,” he added.
