December 12, 2021

Unknown gunmen gruesomely killed Azike, the traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted to the killing of a traditional ruler in Imo State, Edwin Azike by unknown gunmen on Thursday.

IPOB accused the governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma of being behind Azike’s murder, alleging that the governor had threatened to act against any monarch who failed to do his bidding.

The group’s spokesman, Emma Powerful said this in a statement made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday.

SaharaReporters had reported on Friday that some unknown gunmen gruesomely killed Azike, the traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state.

He was abducted on Thursday and his corpse was found at the community market square on Friday morning.

The pro-Biafra group separatist group said, “The global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu strongly condemns the gruesome murder of the traditional ruler of Njaba by unknown and fake gunmen created by evil politicians in Imo State.

“We hope that the Supreme Administrator of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, is enjoying the handiwork of the monsters he incubated and nourished in his desperation to demonise IPOB and ESN (Eastern Security Network)?
“Things are going wrong in Imo State because of threats Hope Uzodinma gave all traditional rulers and stakeholders in the state. He had threatened that any of them who did not do his bidding would have himself to blame, and today his threats have become real.

“Where are the elders in Igbo State? Where are the religious leaders? Why is Imo becoming another burning hell under the watch of Hope Uzodinma? Will the elders keep quiet until Hope and his nurtured monsters eliminate everybody?

“Hope's wife should call his husband to order. History shall one day judge them for the atrocities being perpetrated under their watch in Imo State. Is it not time the people of Imo rise against the evil works of the Supreme Court Administrator? If Dee Sam Mbakwe had ruled old Imo State like this, Uzodinma wouldn't have been alive to bring harm to the people of Imo State.”
