A credible police source also confirmed to police detectives that an investigation was ongoing.

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police has contacted the International Criminal Police Organization, also known as Interpol to assist in the arrest of Roheem Adedoyin, the prime suspect in the mysterious murder of Mr. Timothy Adegoke, a master’s degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

Roheem, the key suspect is a son of Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotels and Resort, where Adegoke had lodged before he was missing and later found dead.

Roheem, who is on the run and believed to have fled the country, is wanted in connection with the mysterious death of Adegoke.

One of the suspects arrested in connection to the murder case was said to have confessed that Roheem, who is the Managing Director of the hotel, organised and supervised how Adegoke’s corpse was evacuated from the facility and buried without informing the police

A credible police source also confirmed to police detectives that an investigation was ongoing to unravel the mysterious death of Adegoke and that more suspects would be arrested.

The source was quoted to have said, “Already, (the) police have contacted Interpol and Immigration to effect the arrest of one of the prime suspects, who is the son of the owner of the hotel. The suspect is on the run but we will surely arrest him and make him face justice.[story_link align="left"]102040[/story_link]

“The IRT has interrogated all the suspects as well as met with the family of the deceased. The investigation is going on well and we have gotten a remand order to keep the suspects in custody pending investigation, in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.”

The suspects will be charged to court soon and justice will be served, the source was quoted to have added.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has directed that the matter must be investigated thoroughly and that is what the police are doing,” the source said. [story_link align="left"]101684[/story_link]

Meanwhile, the IRT has rejected the second autopsy report presented to it by the doctors who conducted a post mortem on the exhumed remains of the deceased.

It was learnt that the police unit rejected the report, saying the family of the deceased were not contacted during the conduct of the autopsy.

There were reports last week that the office of the Inspector-General of Police had received the autopsy report but the family members told SaharaReporters that they were not aware that the report was out.

Some media reports said a copy of the autopsy report had been made available to the Osun State police command for proper record keeping.

The report was said to have been submitted on Wednesday after a medical team that conducted the autopsy had certified that the exercise was thoroughly carried out.[story_link align="left"]101581[/story_link]

However, Gbade Adegoke, elder brother of the deceased, said the family was not aware the report was out and had no idea of its content.

“I just heard it in the media too. I have not seen a copy of the autopsy report. The Police have not called me to brief me on the report. I’m waiting for their call,” he had told SaharaReporters.

Asked what the next line of action would be, he had said, “I can’t determine that until I see the autopsy report. It has to be a family decision. And then, police are still on top of the case.”

The state police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, told SaharaReporters she could no longer comment on Adegoke’s matter as it had been transferred to Abuja.

The IRT Commander, DCP Tunji Disu, who also declined to comment, said the Force Public Relations Department would give an update on the case at the appropriate time.

Adegoke was reported missing sometime after checking in at the hotel on Friday, November 5. His examinations were scheduled for Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7.

SaharaReporters learned that it was noticed that Adegoke was missing when his wife could not reach him on the phone.

Following a police investigation, money paid by Adegoke for lodging was traced to Adesola, one of the employees of the hotel.
