Unconfirmed number of people have allegedly lost their lives while many others sustained different degree of injuries during renewed clashes between Igbide and Ewhen communities under Isoko Local Government Area of Delta State.

As a result of the crisis, commercial and farming activities, the mainstay of the economies of the warring communities, have been brought to a halt.
The reason for the crisis could not be ascertained by our correspondent but sources said it was related to boundary disputes.
SaharaReporters gathered that the issue between the two communities was age-long but was renewed by the recent killing of an Igbide woman on her farm by hoodlums yet to be identified.
A source said, “During Christmas period, when people captured one woman in the bush and killed her there.
"As if that was not enough, they also used a child as sacrifice at the boundary between them and Igbide community.”
Spokesperson for police in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, said some people were injured.
He said, "There is a peace talk organised by Delta State Commissioner of Police, the state government and leaders of the two communities.”
Meanwhile, Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, Victor Asasa, on Thursday imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the two communities in order to curb the situation.
Soldiers were also drafted to the area to maintain peace.
