Police, DSS Operatives Threaten To Shoot Nnamdi Kanu's Supporters After Allowing Pro-government Protesters In Court

Armed security operatives on Monday in Abuja chased away the supporters of the leader of

Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who thronged the court in solidarity with their leader.

The trial of Kanu, who is facing a fresh 15-count terrorism charge and treasonable felony filed against him by the Nigerian government, was later adjourned to Wednesday.[story_link align="left"]103773[/story_link]

The supporters who converged near the Federal Ministry of Justice were chased with guns by combined security operatives from the Nigerian police, the army and the Department of State Service.

Some of the supporters were also beaten while the operatives threatened to shoot at them.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters observed that pro-government protesters brandishing the national flags were given access to the court premises to stage a protest.

Some of the rights groups including Ohanaeze leaders who came in solidarity with Kanu were also not allowed into the court and waited outside till the end of the proceedings.
