Commercial Motorcyclist Shot Dead In Oyo

Some passersby who spoke on condition of anonymity said the man could have been shot while resisting a robbery attempt.

A yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcyclist, known as Okada man was in common parlance, has been shot dead at the Orogun junction, Ojoo area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The deceased was shot in the head.

SaharaReporters observed that the incident might have happened on Tuesday night as the blood of the victim had already coagulated, while his motorcycle key was left beside him.

Our correspondent reports that robberies and killings appear to be on the increase around the University of Ibadan and along Oyo Road recently.

Some passersby who spoke on condition of anonymity said the man could have been shot while resisting a robbery attempt by the suspected armed men.

They added that robbery along the highway was a common phenomenon in recent times.

Sympathisers were seen commenting at the scene while calling on security operatives to do more to secure lives and property in the area.
