BREAKING: Nigerian Army Kills ISWAP/Boko Haram Spiritual Leader, 'Several Terrorists' In Borno

The Nigerian Army has said troops of Operation Desert Sanity neutralised several Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram terrorists in Borno, northeast Nigeria.

The army in a post on its official Twitter handle on Friday morning said arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
“Gallant Troops of Operation Desert Sanity neutralized several ISWAP/BokoHaram terrorists including the Amir & spiritual head of Galta during an aggressive clearance operation around Manjo Ali Qere in Borno State on Thur 28 April 2022. Arms & Ammunition were also captured,” the army wrote.
Similarly, the Nigerian Military High Command said its troops had killed a prominent Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) Commander, Abubakar Dan-Buduma.
According to the military, scores of other terrorists were killed alongside the ISWAP commander.
It also said the troops rescued 848 civilians and arrested 119 terrorists in Northwestern Nigeria in separate operations.
Onyeuko also said a total number of 1,158 terrorists and their families comprising 164 men, 367 women and 627 children surrendered to troops in the last three weeks.
