25 % Salary Cut & President Jonathan Lies By Sunday Njokede
President Jonathan is well aware Nigerians do not trust him. Nobody would buy a second-hand car from him. If his words are a currency, it certainly is counterfeit money. Mr Rueben Abati and co. in wonton spree have been circulating counterfeits and giving bounced cheques to Nigerians each time they speak for this government.
The Occupy Nigeria protests had come and gone. But the corruptions, lies, deceptions and ineffectiveness which inspired the short-lived mass-annoyance are continuing.
Should Jonathan’s lack of insight, direction and gutlessness continue to creep as normality in Nigeria – very quickly, another civil disobedience is near in the offing. The angers are still very pent-up and boiling hot as lava.
President Jonathan Goodluck had promised Nigeria Labour Congress aces some soothing aids aimed at curbing the pains from petrol price increment. The linchpins of NLC with their tails behind their legs said amen to Jonathan's automatic say-so and called off the protest. Before then the Nigeria Labour Congress had some time ago: after all said and done – entered into agreement for President Jonathan to pay the minimum wage latest August last year. It’s seven months since and the president hasn’t paid. Yet, NLC people couldn’t tell Jonathan to honour his former promise/promises before they move on to fuel protest negotiations! Here is the caveat. NLC champions should for modesty sake! Stop going into talks with Jonathan whilst previous promises are unmet.
As part of the relief: we read that Mr Goodluck issued a circular to the effect that government workers must be paid latest 20th of January. We are now in February and Federal workers plus armed forces and police have not received their last months’ salary. Sick and late president Yaradua had paid workers latest 20th of every month even without making promise or expediency factor. Our extant young and able bodied president is lazy by nature. Jonathan’s belatedness in paying workers salary is beyond the usual laziness tag. There’s an angle of wickedness to it. And I suppose it is natural born tendency. Nothing could change this president. You might blame it on the rain, past government and whatnot. By and by, Nigerian would either start a quick revolution or endure the president’s incurable impotency.
After the fuel price increment in Ghana, the government made pronouncement ordering that Ghanaians get their salaries paid earlier than usual. The circular worked in Ghana, but failed with Nigeria. This time, put the blame on Sapele water; ogogoro don’t care.
And again, one other safety net listed by the president is to cutting politician’s salary 25 percent under. If they think they’re doing us favour let them flip the political theatrics to Bolivia where its leader Mr Morales sliced off over 50% of his salary after taking office. We’ve been expecting Jonathan to hurry-hurry quick-quick and hake off politician’s salary with the ungovernable rush he increased petrol price. Almost a month since after making that announcement, no sign of cutting or sacrifice making has started. He has no magic wand to cut salaries except seeking senate approval. And this, he’s not doing. The president is as easy as Sunday morning when sentencing poor Nigerians to economic concentration camp of Wold Bank. But he’s uneasy and weak in his knees to dare cabal people and cut their salaries.
Most Abuja residents have been complaining bitterly. Busses provided to ease the pain of fuel hike have all disappeared. The vehicles may probably be resting somewhere in Otueke readying to be used for 2015 presidential election.
The president did also vow to reduce overseas travelling expenses. Nevertheless, Nigerians were awed when last week; he went to Addis Ababa with swell number of delegates which surpassed Rueben Abati’s counting ability. Abati was mesmerised by the huge population of which he couldn’t tell Nigerians the actual number of entourage to Ethiopia, African Summit. He speculated they’d be about 32 delegates but reports have it that they were far more. I’m wondering how they could count the roaring sums of money which would accrue from subsidy removal, if they couldn’t count their co-travellers. Till this moment, Aso Rock has kept the list sacrosanct from Nigerians. Nigerians are unripe to know how they’re governed Aso Rock should be thinking. And I suppose Jonathan and his crew are assuming they’re too sexy for themselves.
This administration is infamous for distributing ‘transport money’ and cheese to dissenters. No wonder Nigerians smell rat anytime and anywhere titans of NLC are gathered to negotiate with government. The last thing you expect from such meetings is a breath of fresh air. President Jonathan should without further delay cut politician’s salaries. Let him do it with the deft seriousness he increased petrol price on New Year’s Day. Jonathan should show for once that he’s sharp and trustworthy. Practice what you preach. Is not a curse!
These are just simply
These are just simply questions posed by the writer of this piece. Were government workers paid by 20 of last month? Or have they even been paid at all? Has Dumbo jo effected the 25% cut in basic salaries? These are simply yes or no questions that beg answers.
Sunday njokede is gainfully hired by occupy 9ja-and buhari
Sunday Njokede, should spend his time in Europe, attempting to raise funds for the many orphans left behind by the Boko haram bombings in Mandalla, Adamawa and Kaduna. See what governor of Akwa Ibom chief Akpabio did recently to the victims? Instead of sniffing around to find faults with GEJ. The governor who donated over 50m to them victim of the Mandalla bombing, is from the south south! We all know Sunday Njokede is a supporter of Buhari. So he has no moral right to pen his lousy thoughts on GEJ. If he can back the man who sent members of his family to their early grave, then why should we trust the judgement of such an insane mind? Buhari it was who jailed good old Sam Mbakwe. And who once had his VP from the same zone as Njokede. What was he waiting for then? GEJ is not a spare dealer. 9jas knows those to trust in the second hand car market-but u can bet your life on it-an Ijaw man with a car to sell? That vehicle will be a quick buy! animals

Mr Njokede, you said most
Mr Njokede, you said most nigerians won't buy a second hand car from president Jonathan. Am putting it across that I personally won't buy a "supposed new car from this president" because he is deficient all round. Won't be fooled by Jonathan proposed new car like Rueben Abati, et al.
Deri Jobless? Yes...hmm.. NO
Deri,Deri..no deri, the jobless online devil's advocate, i would like to know what you do for a living, i guess you are a lonely man,.. boy? whose partner is the Internet, wait, someone said to me here, he is not jobless, technically he is been paid to live the lonely life that would make him sit by the computer 24/7 waiting patiently online to rubbish the next article that highlights the shortcomings of an inept govt led by deri's benefactor, Santa Claus Jona. What will you be doing after 2015? i advice you to save enough money for the unavoidable dry seasons, gej will not be in aso rock forever you know, this advice goes to your line manager too, Mr Abati.
Deri, or whatever you called
Deri, or whatever you called yourself, you are mentally retarded. What has what you've written got to do with the topic. Those of you that are not Ibos in this country, how far have you fared? Until we leave ethnic sentiments that won't take us anywhere and accept the truth for what it is, we will continue to move in circles. Have you ever sit to think that it might be the PDP members that lost out that are fermenting trouble in this country, no it's easier for you to point at Buhari ( i am no fan of his by the way). Like it or not, GEJ needs to sit up, his "zoombieness" is too much. If the country is overwhelming him, let him resign

A fact has just been established in the minds of Nigerians that nobody trusts the President, because after the occupy Nigeria, people were expecting to see the promises the President made in his speech to come to fulfillment, but still yet, they have not. The president promised to cut down the Government salaries by 25%, but much to our surprise, no action has been taken concerning that yet. i urge the President to fulfill the promises he made concerning the relief for the removal of fuel subsidy, in order for Nigerians to trust him whenever he says something of that nature again.
Reply to deri
Mr njokede wrote an interesting article about our PHD president and his lies, but you always bring in tribal comments to this site. "What is the purpose of government? It is to promote the welfare and happiness of the people. An incompetent ruler or corrupt official forfeits the people trust, and when trust is lost, the country is doom " says the great chinese philosopher Confucius. GED has lost all the trust and goodwill to his office, God help Nigeria.
Human Right
Confirmed. Our president needs to show us just for once that he is not a lame duck. I dare him to it!!!
The Giant Eye sore of Africa !
Let me tell you something till there is a revolution that lands OBJ, IBB Otedola, Dangote GEJ and his widow and their closest friends in jail you are all wasting your breath, are you ready for it ? By the way How can you expect the Nigerian Police to get 100 naira road blocks out of their hustle if they are not paid salaries on time what a joke of a country. Nigeria the giant eye sore of Africa.
the midget sunday njokede in search of his roots in mandalla
Alhaji Aliko Mohammed, Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) may have had Sunday Njokede and Uzoma in mind when he declared that “those Igbos wanting to leave the northern parts of the nation are free to go” Rather than have him and his likes confront the emirs, sultans and fulani elites that they often serve, over the continued killings of Igbos in the North, as Joe Igbokwe did, the Buhari apologist from the south east, like orphans who grew up in a motherless babies home and in search of their roots in the south, now want the Fulanis to appreciate them for attempting to house boy their way back into their smelly souls in mandalla and adamawa. Hear them wahala and Sunday Njokede, (We the igbos are travelers so we cannot afford to tell boko haram off-aware of what happened to us during the civil war) What a shame! Fine, so why dont you line up yr women for them to have babies with in the North? Blaming GEJ for every mosquito bite will not help Buhari become presido of 9ja.

Bad govt
We have a finance minister who insisted on being paid in a foreign currency. I wonder if the minister will ever put any effort in finding ways to make the domestic currency any better. GEJ won't declare his assets so who is he to make other thieves under him act justly? I save my energy from writing about GEJ and his government, it's annoying and sad.
SPOT ON, SUNDAY NJOKEDE
You have said it all. Let those tribalists and promoters of evil start posting their comments now. Those impostors who have already sold their conscience/birth-right for a plate of poridge. Jonathan and his team are jokers. I still keep asking, how did our President get his Phd qualification? Those without Phd had performed better in the past. Niger Deltans may have regretted having him in the first place as President, which may be their first and last chance. There are better qualified persons in the Niger Delta, who are sincere and conscientious. They would have performed far better. No wonder Jonathan told former US ambassador that he had no plans to become President (wikileaks). Obasanjo and corrupt PDP have foisted a mediocre on Nigerians. A clueless person who cannot head a village meeting. Those of my greedy Ibo brothers warming up for Presidency as promised by GEJ, are in for a surprise. Na laugh I dey laugh o.

Nice style
I like your writing style and you are on point. Good governance is a joke to our people. there is no concerted effort to ease our pains or createjobs. I don't believe we have economists in the corridors of power taking sincere decisions fro the greater good of all. the positions are too political for the office holder to understand the critical nature of their decisions.
