Occupy Nigeria House, NYC, US-Jan 10, 2012
Occupy Nigeria protests finally descended on the Nigerian embassy in New York City on January 10, 2010. Diaspora Nigerians and friends came together to raise their voice in solidarity with their counterparts in Nigeria. The mood was lively, serious, and determined as protesters promised to return tomorrow, but this time to be joined by the Occupy Wall Streeters.
occupy nigeria
when next is the rally taking place in new york
I'm Delighted
I'm happy for those in diaspora who have also joined in the struggle. It's a sign of new omen yet king jonah is still adamant. Well in the end he will be like the antelope that dances after the music has stop playing
nothing like unity
what unity are you talking about when there are killings in the same country, nigeria.
What a Country!!!
What a country, what a leadership!!! While Nigeria's Refineries are operating at 30% production capacity, Niger Republic, Togo, Cameroon, Senegal have refineries that can take care of our shortfalls!! The Chinese too are coming to build refineries for us in Bayelsa, Lagos and Kogi states and will be funding 80% of the costs. Moreover plans are on the way to rehabilitate the existing ones. Hopefully , all these will be completed in not more than 24 months. We have had these stories before and we are not sure the government is sincere. If the government can leave us at the discussion table to announce removal of fuel subsidy, they cannot be trusted!!. As it is now, we dont have a government, rather we have decision makers that have totally disconnected themselves from the people.
CAUTION
BE MINDFUL OF OUT SIDE PLAYERS.
President Jonathan build us a great nation
{IMHO} We should let Jonathan to complete his agenda for nigeria. Since he doesn't want to change his scale of priority & embark on job creation & gives opportunity to young nigeria. Let him keep doing because nigeria youths of today need answers that will lasts!!!
Diaspora Our true family
I only want to congratulate Nigeria becuase of their unity in despair and in happiness. I want to say now I only trust more and believe in the diaspora because they share with us as one and have shown it overwhelmingly, I criticize u no more.
Change can come in many dimension, this on will set the example for now and for tomorrow that no leader is too big for a nation. no leader can be more passionate than the majority of his people. No leader can say no to what people say yes. No leader is truly a leader until he listens to his people like a servant or else he remains a RULER like the military with or without a uniform...
When people drop their major cause's of difference like religion, geographical, political and tribal difference then whoever is cheating from the past and the present should be seriously careful and know that time is ticking too close...
RE:Occupy Nigeria
Dude its easy to put fingers...Ur statement is very unconstructive...What makes U feel U wont find urself in a similar mess if U or whomever U feel worn the election. The issue here is if Nigerians-so called civil servants at everylevel live an exempliary life.If every market man or woman is honest about His/Her trading. If every undergraduate would honestly prep 4 exams,if lecturers have Human faces good will eventually triumph over EVIL.There is more to this problem than the religion of who is in governance.Governance is not the birth right of any religious or ethnic group.
THE ISSUE OF FUEL SUBSIDY
THE ISSUE OF FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL IS A DIVERSION OF ATTENTION FROM THE REAL PROBLEM: THE ISSUE OF INSECURITY AND FAILURE OF GOVERNMENT TO HANDLE IT DESPITE BILLIONS OF NAIRA SPEND. EVEN THOUGH MR PRESIDENT HAS BEEN BLAMING OTHERS FOR HIS FAILURE BUT THE REALITY IS THAT YOU ARE TO BE BLAMED, AND IF MR PRESIDENT IS NOT PART OF THIS BH KILLINGS WHICH HE CLAIMED HE KNOW WHO ARE BEHIND IT, WHY CANT YOU ADDRESS THE SITUATION? U HAVE TO BE ALIVE FIRST THEN ANYTHING .... ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT. THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE BOTH MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS WILL NEVER GO FOR NOTING. MAY GOD EXPOSE AND PUNISH ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING INNOCENT NIGERIANS.
RE:TREACHEROUS GOVERNORS
Try to cleanse yourself of the deep tribalism in you.The issue @ hand is not @ all connected to what you have said. It's not true that all the Governors agreed to the subsidy removal.Govs Fayemi & Aregbesola have openly disagreed. Are you a member of the Governor's Forum? Did u attend their meetings? On Awo is there anything wrong with advising the head of state on how to win the war?Nigerian is now better enlightened than the weak sentiments you are trying to whip-up.Join the struggle, occupy wherever u are & stop the Yoruba beef.
Are you so naive and ignorant?
With everything that is happening in Nigeria-the unwarranted killings of Christians and southerners in the North under President Jonathan's watch; rewarding the family of the deceased leader of the Boko Horam group; removal of oil subsidy issue at the beginning of this year, thereby making life more difficult for the poor masses in Nigeria. And those who are benefiting from the ever corrupt politicians, probably you are one of them, has the audacity to blackmail those who rallied at Nigeria House yesterday as agents of who? Do I call you the agents Boko Horam and its other allies who are in the mainstream of Nigeria politics?
May God forgive you and open your corrupt eyes!!!
GEJ - Goodluck Ebele d Joker
Mr President, it is better you save face by quickly confronting all the Boko Haram and this fuel subsidy palaver headon. What kind of legacy do you want to leave? .Have you ever thought about that. So far you have no direction, you are visionless and clueless.
May God help you Goodluck Ebele the Joker (GEJ)
hmmmmm
funny scenes all over the world

BE QUIET PLEASE
Olaniyan or what did you call your name, it shows how senseless and stupid you are, what has Awolowo, Yoruba and Their Governors has to do with the situation on ground. The Governors that were at the NEC meeting and supported the removal of the subsidy and went back home to provide materials for the protesters are devil you need to run away from, they supported the removal and are now providing materials for people to go out to protest so that they can be killed by the police that are working for the same governors.
People need to think and think right before you say or write anything. If you don't have any good thing to say or write please be quiet and be quiet for good.
Who are the people saying
Who are the people saying time and again that the Yorubas cannot be trusted? Who can be trusted? Can the Igbos be trusted? Can U trust the Hausa/Fulani? Trust the Boko Haram if U will. But why must you see every action of Yoruba leaders as ethnically motivated? Can you see Nigeria beyond your ethnic prejudices? Why bring Awolowo into this? What is your problem? For sure Nigeria is made up of federated units each with its peculiarities. Time it is for us to move forward from the civil war mentality, and begin to see ourselves as Nigerians. Let us have a true federalism, and let each of the federated units develop at its own pace. Now than ever before is the need for a sovereign national conference. Finally, on the issue of petrol subsidy withdrawal. Itis ill-timed and ill-advised. The President and the Governors were voted in by the people, they should carry the people along in whatever they do especially when it touches upon peoples means of livelihoood.
occupy nigeria house
one thing comes to mind, and that is after following the protests in our dear country i came to conclusion that Mr. president is set to divide nigeria. boko haram may be a tool in the hand of jonathan's presidency to actualise the division. If that is the wish let's go without shedding innocent bloods.
What time is the protest
What time is the protest tomorrow? Please count me in! #OccupyNigeria
good job and ...
hon. people of naija in diaspora, you're doing a good job for IBB, Ciroma, Rubadu, El-Rufai; you were sponsored to rally - you were! Human knowledge and impunity - its a mess! Wat’s important is don’t turn naija into Syria or the country divides. This will serve the north and their cows well, sure. And the south goes home with their black water “so, pure and making big naijas rich, giving at least a little life to the economy”.

Protest Must Continue With or Without Organised Labour!!!
With or without organised Labour the protest must continue. We are not fighting for fuel price reversal alone, the eradication of corruption and death sentence for any corrupt official. If Jonathan is not strong enough to affect these changes, he should get out of the way for any other capable leader. He cannot sit there like a dummy whist Nigerian thieves called politicians carry on stealing all the money meant for development. He should get out of the Aso Rock if he's so scared that he cannot deal with those that are draining Nigeria. Jonathan went to America, Australia, South Africa and many other beautiful countries around the world. When he came back from these countries, did he have a moment when he just sat quietly on his own and thought you know what, I would love my country to be as beautiful as those countries! I doubt it, they are too selfish to think of anything like that, for them, it's just me me, bunch of visionless bastards who called themselves leaders.

Good Job guys
We commend you Nigerians who bared the cold judging from your dressing to protest on behalf of suffering Nigerian masses. You don't have to do it because you guys are comfortable in the US. But you chose to do this for us back home. We appreciate you and God would bless you all. Amen.
Occupy Nigeria
Jonathan is a clueless president who is dancing to a well-written script by IMF and the World Bank's interest as opposed to the REAL interet of Nigerians! But I blame the "Christians" who voted and rigged him into the presidency. See what happens when religion is used for political reasons? We end up with a fool in office.
TREACHEROUS GOVERNORS
It has always been said time and time again that the Yorubas cannot be trusted. All the governors were present at the NEC meeting where they ALL agreed to the removal of the fuel subsidy. They did not oppose it.They all signed up to it.But when the governors of some states in western Nigeria went home, they provided huge sums of money to fund the protests in their states - providing money for t-shirts,food etc for protesters in order to sabotage their colleagues & the President.Haba, Yoruba, how treacherous!Awolowo as Commissioner & Deputy Chairman of Nigerian NEC conspired & advised Gowon to immediately create 12 states in order to polarize & make it difficult for the now South South to remain committed to the Biafra effort with their oil & natural gas.The same Awo advised on how to make it difficult for Biafra to get food & weapons. And you say Igbo people should trust the Yorubas.Try squeezing water out of stone.
