is true, Jonathan should have neeaddmd what specific steps the NFF would take to remedy the situation and to account for the money that had been channeled their way. You are right, he could then have turned round to FIFA and told them to not be too hasty, and then worked something out behind the scene. Saving face is very important, inAsia great importance is attached to it.Question is who is the presidential adviser(s) ? Why are they not doing their job properly? Or did Jonathan decide to not consult them in the first instance. Either way, questions are cast upon his decision making and his ability to think things through. He was right to signal that things couldn't go on as before, but like many things the Nigerian government is involved with, it was mishandled. This mismanagement of issues, is a carry over from Yar'Adua's days, it seems Jonathan is determined to carry on this tradition.

interesting

Even the president of Uganda,Museveni removed his hat before the snap leaving the duo of GEJ and Salva kirr of south Sudan, what a funny duo

GEJ's position in the group photograph of African Leaders

When it was said that GEJ contested for the leadership of the AU, I said it can't be true since he was not in the group picture of the African Leaders. It was when I looked again before I could spot him in that obscure position. I doubted if that man I saw as GEJ is actually him. How come Nigeria's status is diminishing even in group photograph of African leaders? GEJ should do better next time to be in the front row or a place where he would be noticed immediately. We are proud of our president and with the status of Nigeria in Africa, we want our president always in top positions even in group photograph of the continent's leaders.

Why dint you tell AU to send

Why dint you tell AU to send him parking from the summit? Or you dont have the power? Who are you by the way? What have you ever achieved in your life? Where OBJ can go or enter, you dare move near or they will bundle you into jail as a criminal. Look at OBJ with Thabo Mbeki of South Africa. Together these two men launched Africa into prominence in the early 2000's. He may share the blame of not allowing free and fair elections that threw up two of the most inept people on earth to govern Nigeria. But do you blame him for a man with a PhD(which could deceive anyone to think he should be one of the smartest Nigerians) who behaves like my grandfather who never went to school but fishing in the oceans?

You must not comment...!

Mr. Olusailor, I hardly respond to public comments. But I just could not keep quite after reading your comment. I was trying to condone your line of comment initially (at least, considering how some of the people that commented before you did)...but you derailed totally by mentioning MILITARY...I began to wonder if you have been around, in this country, for some yrs (especially during yrs of military rules)or you just fell from another planet.

MY ADVICE: You must not comment on all issues, especially when you lack proper and relevant idea(s) on such...!

President GEJ selling us out at AU meeting

it is a pity to see our president standing in d back row taking photographs. what kind of president he is. has he forgotten that we are d giants of africa. why he is selling us out? Can't he see united states president when taking photographs at any occassions. Always stay in front, dat shows d courage of a good leadership. pls change ur attitudes.

@Okelve Anthonio..,the report was intentional!

Stupid people like you are the reasons why we are still where we are. Do you want to tell me that Jonathan does not know what is going on in NNPC and the PPRA. Why can't he remove DIEZZANI and the NNPC chairman. Can they get to the bottom of this issue with all those guys still calling the short. If people insult him, it is because he demands to be insulted. I think he should resign so that Nigeria can move forward. I am too annoyed to continue to answer you.

GEJ shld stop embarrassing

GEJ shld stop embarrassing Nigerians. It is clear that he does not have what it take to rule this nation. Nigeria is not animal farm, we are the giant of Africa and one of the most popular black nation.

GEJ is Nigerias' Best by far

Poor Nigerians, you like been LOUD and noticed. Well with this president we have a perfect gentleman. A thinker, cultured and calm. Enough of this big for nothing ATTITUDE grow up.the days of military strongmen is HISTORY. They deceived us while looting the treasury making out to be something yet nothing!

PDP

Hahahahahaha!!! Nice one.
I guess PDP need to spread their wings longer.

RESPECT UR LEADER

Please learn to respect your leader; regardless of any grievances you may have against him, you should still be aware that he is the president of the federal republic.

EVEN IN G8

Even among world leaders and G8 summit you will never see Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo at such an odd spot. This Ijaw man has carried inferiority too far. A Nigerian president almost anonymous in that group photo. Shame to giant of Africa.

GEJ looks like a House Boy in the photograph

The Nigerian President, Mr. Jonathan, looks like a House boy in the photograph among some African leaders. This man seems very lost and does not deserve to be a President. I weep for Nigeria and its people who seem to get the short end of the stick.

GEJ is an apology.

GOODLUCK HAS NOT GOOD AT ALL!

THIS PRESIDENT IS THE WORST, SEE WHERE HE IS STANDING, EVEN LIBERIA AND ZIMBABWE HAVE HIGHER PEDIGREE NOW THAN NIGERIA, THE MILITARY MUST REMOVE THIS MAN, HE HAS BEEN REJECTED HOME AND ABROAD!

A bunch of failures?

Honestly I look at the whole lot of them and what I see are noise makers, dead poodle and arguably a bunch consisting mostly of failures.

DANG, OBJ IS F*******G HANDSOME MAN

THEY ALL PROBABLY SLEPT THROUGH THE ENTIRE SUMMIT WITHOUT A RESOLUTION ON ANY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE . BUNCH OF LAZY LEADERS.

A.U Summit Photo Gallery

It is quite pitiful that our C-in C is relegated to the back row during the A.U. leaders photo shoot. This would never have happened with Gen O. Obasanjo. This more than anything points to the low standing the President has in the international community.

What is ur point

Are you saying SR stories are false, then why are you at the site to start with, you have plenty news papers in Nigeria that feed you with truth. We want to read SR so you dont need to cast doubt of what we know to be true. So your coments are not appreciated. Goodnight

so PDP can't help GEJ out as

so PDP can't help GEJ out as AU chairman?

@Okelve Anthonio..,the report was intentional!

You advised Sahara reporters to check their news. The truth is they wont because the report was INTENTIONAL to paint the president in bad light for foolish bloggers on this forum to pour insults on the president. SR hide in New York while working so hard to pull down the govt in Nigeria. Many of us in Nigeria understand the game SR is playing and we sieve every report on this site because majority are outright falsehood, half truth, speculations or conjectures. It is a shame that a platform such as this that ought to be used to promote TRUTH and EXPOSE corruption is being massively ABUSED. The reports of Sahara reporters will ACCUSE, JUDGE and CONDEMN at the same time. This form of gutter, STUPID and childish journalism can only happen in Nigeria. Tell me the difference between the ABUSE of journalism by SR and the ABUSE of office by political office holders in Nigeria. The persons behind SR will do worst things if they have access to public funds. That is the TRUTH

So Nigeria is now ranked 3rd

So Nigeria is now ranked 3rd in the african perspective.GEJ, can Obama stay in that type of position in the midst of world leaders? Its a pity.

Now Nigeria does not stand in

Now Nigeria does not stand in the front row of African leaders! What a shame. This shows how far we have lost our greatness

Mr Jonathan did not contest Election

Sahara Reporters check your news please, I was at the AU conference , President Jonathan was not on the election, the people from ECOWAS Presented Mr HARUNA in a joint decision from THIER last meeting

Run for chairperson of the AU

Run for chairperson of the AU when his nation Nigeria is on fire. Give me a brake, if Mr Jonathan can not run, rule and lead his country, how can he run the AU? Mr Jonathan should first put his house in order, before biting more than he can chew. I know that there will be hangers on, praise singers and chalthans urging mr Jonathan to go for it. Mr Jonathan take my advice aviod these people like a plague, as they are ( AGIP) any government in power.

E be like say e don tey wey

E be like say e don tey wey baba see Oby
OBJ: Chei see Oby. Ehen u sine reach this. Wetin I dey do before wey I no see you....lol

AU presidency? Jonathan is not a serious man

Haba? Has the man solved the problems in his country before desiring to solve the problems of Africa?
Jonathan's house is on fire still he wants to carry the problems of Africa? Does this man realize the enormity of Nigeria's problems? If not for the PDP majority in the national assembly, he would be facing impeachment proceedings by now.
Now I know that Nigeria is in trouble. The president does not understand the demands of the office!!! Can you imagine the insult? West African nations ganging up against Nigeria?
By the way, he promised to reduce the cost of governance a few days ago. What is he doing with 25 man entourage and his wife 32 people at the conference? To vote or rig the election?

how could he?

GEJ from all indications you think AU is Naija, this is just a start.
