PHOTONEWS: Harmattan-Fire Razes Residential Home In Fadeyi Area Of Lagos
A fire outbreak blamed on the harmattan wind has completely razed down a residential building on Ogati Street of Fadeyi, Lagos today.
Origin of the fire remains a mystery. But residents within the premises said the fire started around 2.00pm. Eye witnesses say firefighters arrived about one and half hour later and did their best, but the fire had done irreparable damage before their put it out.
Four persons were injured in the fire , three of them sustained minor injuries and were immediately treated by a first aid medical team in a mobile intensive care ambulance nearby.
However, one resident caught napping by the fire, Mr. Emmanuel Joseph had a more serious injury and is now receining treatment at Somolu General Hospital.
About fourteen rooms were affected by the fire which unexpectedly ejected the occupants, completely. In front of the burnt house is a beer joint which was also engulfed by smokes from impact of the fire. Area residents say they just had a street carnival in front of the burnt house a day earlier.
