Lagos activists came out in a large number to demonstrate against the removal of gasoline subsidy. The Nigerian government withdrew gasoline subsidy on January 1 2012 to the consternation of long suffering Nigerians. Today, Nigerians came out on the streets of Lagos and several cities across Nigeria to protest against the action of the Goodluck Jonathan-led government.

Refineries should be built at

Refineries should be built at the same time the subsidies are going on. Taking away the subsidies will cripple Nigeria. It's better for the country to be in debt than for citizens to suffer. Even the US is in debt.... Build refineries, subsidize, reduce embezzlement an corruption and we would slowly emerge... Think about the poor, unemployed, aged, disabled, youth...... Think.

We are not alien or slaves!

This country is for all of us irrespective of the status so the govt should not milking us to enrich themselves and the economic saboteur(cabals) by removing food away from our tables in the of fuel subsidy.

GEJ No IDEA to RULE NIGERIA JUST RESIGN NOW

You better resign now before u turn Nigeria into another Libiya

Sudsidy removed from diesel -

Sudsidy removed from diesel - nothing...

Subsidy removed from kerosene - nothing...

Now fuel subsidy and some people are still being fooled by very bare lies from GEJ & co...

US citizens buy petrol at more than $2 per...gallon, GALLON!, not litre - a US gallon is about 3.79 litres if una no know (press am 4 ur fone)

How many US citizens run fuel generators for electricity?

A store clerk (sales boy) in the US earns an average of $12 AN HOUR! Nigerian governors are refusing to pay N18000 A MONTH! ( a paltry 40 cents an hour or $3.5 dollars per day)

The cost of only our yeye Nigerian Government is 100 times the price of fuel subsidy.
How can one senator in the LOWER HOUSE OF REPS be earning 10 times more than the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!? And our government dey talk say our economy wan collapse?

Re: I'm soo happy dt Muslims nd

YOU ARE VERY WRONG

@Ifeanyi-Democracy 4ever

I would like to meet u ....and have u say that again in person.............

Nice talk

Ori de pe jo,

People come and promise free health, free education, free this ands that and people rush to vote them in without asking where the money is coming from. Oil should never have been subsidised, it is high time to build power stations and oil refineries and if anybody dare STEAL OUR MONEY THROUGH BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION WE ARE GOING THE CHINESE WAY, DEATH PENALTY

Please Refrain

Please ignore this stupid man and his advice

Ifeanyi Democracy 4ever

It seems you are fed up of life and just clutching at straws like a drowning man. Anu ohia; efuluefu. Laa nne gi!

Buhari remains the best president we have ever had in Nigeria and I doubt if we can get a man who loves all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.

I'm soo happy dt Muslims nd

I'm soo happy dt Muslims nd Christians nw are a group working togeda. Nw we can c dt d problem is nt frm us its frm d govt.

Protests to Achieve Little.

The govt has removed fuel subsidy. All these protests should have been there before the removal. Now people are protesting for nothing. Can those govt men and women ever go back to their vomit? Fuel subsidy removal has come to stay. We have better adjust to new realities.

Fuel Subsidy

We know the houses and family members of those idiots behind this subsidy's removal. Pls, move forward and attack their houses, burn their building, car and family members. These steps if taken would be appropriate.

Bros show dem, don't talk

Bros show dem, don't talk again in dis forum if don't know wat to say again. Big fool like jonathan

Jonathan, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala & Co Sleep No More.

No peace for the wicked. Jonathan, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and co, have murdered sleep and therfore they will sleep no more. How can Nigeria, an oil producing nation be lacking in the mid of plenty in their own country. What kind of creature is this man named Jonathan? This is a wicked act, God save Nigeria.

Disorganised protest without aims

In as much as Nigerians can protest, I would rather these protests have specific aims and objectives with an organisation calling the shot. For a start, the protest should start by careful kidnapping of councillors/chairmen at local level and burning their vehicles/houses. Thereafter, target the state reps, and if they cannot be found, kidnap their relatives (mum, dad, wives, children etc). It would be nice to tie them to stakes in their local environment. Do the same for the lgislooters in the national assemblies and the KOMISINAs.

The only credible organisation in Nigeria is Boko Haram. If they can renounce their hatred for Xtians and see this as opportunity to do a better job for Nigerians now, they will win hearts and soul. OPC forget them, MEND have sold their sould to the devil. NANS are toothless, NLC lacks credibility and ideas.

spring

NLC's planned strike next wed'day is 2 far. hope they are not planning to compromise. with or without them we will go ahead and press home our demands. No subsidy, we demand good governance.

Nigeria spring

Now that we know all the beneficiaries of the subsidy scam can we not go after them? we deserve good governance. Nigerians lets rise to the occassion. lets the protest spread.

Nigerian spring

This is the best chance we have to right the wrongs of our leaders. we need to come together as a ppl to hit each and every leader that has looted and milked us dry.

wetin cause:

1.French revolution? The people could no longer bear the burden of poverty the noble and ruling class imposed on them.So they decided to revolt and since then everybody in power they mind wetin im dey do for power belongs to the people.
2.Arab spring?Na how government they treat the populace like how Nigerian government dey do to us today and the vegetable sellers' illtreatment by government officials spark wahala.
3.Nigeria own nko?Na fuel subsidy removal. It is time we define our stand for the CRIMINALS ruling us.Nigeria is owned by anybody called Nigerian and not IMF or PDP or the ruling class. No going back my people.Lets continue to revolt!Till we get what we want for THEY DON'T CARE 'BOUT US.

I now Know

I now see the reason why ATIKU while campaigning, called Jonathan Inexperienced. The man Jonathan is not only clueless but he's also a MORON. I regret not voting for Buhari. Jonathan is a big FOOL.

NIGERIA SPRING?

Hopefully, this will start something like the “Arab Spring.” I really, pray and hope it does. The country needs a major overhaul.

did anyone notice the police

did anyone notice the police car in this pictures its terrible, thats what they claim to have been spending on giving security officers nothing to protect citizens and protecting themseles with state of the art machines, selfish, useless leaders, jonathan is a useless rogue

Useless country. This will

Useless country. This will never go anywhere, what a waste of time. I will never, Repeat fight for Nigerians. Fighting for Nigerians is like an endless task. Fighting for people that will never appreciate you.. Thankless Task. Tired of these idiot calling God left and right. What a waste. The country have not reached a brink of desperation. Once, it reaches then i will help them fight. At this moment the people are not ready to fight. Useless people, overrated country, Wrong from head to toe. Every single thing is just fucking wrong.

Ifeanyi democrazy- moron

I never knew u're such a stupid, stark-illeterate. You should go back to Aba market to collect market tax from women instead of making fool of yourself.

@ GOOD News ---- #2

Answer:
If states cannot fend for themselves, let them merge (like banks did).Reduce cost of running govt and number of Federal house elects.
Recover wealth back from those that have been benefiting from Govt. Tax the wealthy properly. discourage stealing and reward wistle blowers. Let "Big-man" go to jail.
Remove Jona 'cos he doesn't have clue.
If everything fail, let us employ foreign admistrators on contract basis (like eagles coach).

@ GOOD News----Ok but

Good that you refered to PTF.
You still see PTF roads and blankets 'cos Buhari was involved.
b/4 we monitor the savings that will come from subsidy removal, why're we not 1st ask for proper accounting of all the oil money, gas revenue, Sea-port revenue,Tax revenue, govt waste(new senator=new house+new cars), convoy, etc.
What is security vote and why Goodluck didn't start from cutting that just like IMO gov?
How much did Gowan had when he was constructing fly-overs in Lagos?
Was it devil that built the existing railways that streched from Eko to Cafanchan?
Have you compared recent university structures with old ones like ABU, UI, UNN?
The only diff today is that present elites learn to steal all without fear and conscience.
What will happen to the gains of this subsidy removal is, the 36 govs will want increase in their secuirty vote.

show them

Show the world how organised we are. Let us finally show the world Nigerian problems is with the followers and not the leaders.
