The offices of The News /PM News in Ogba, Lagos, was on fire on Wednesday night.

The News/PM News office in Ogba, Lagos, on fire ... on Wednesday.
The headquarters of a popular weekly magazine, TheNews, and an evening tabloid, PMNews was on Wednesday evening gutted by fire.
The fire, which started at 6.30pm, however, affected the last floor of the two-storey building on Acme Road, Lagos.
It was learnt that the inferno was caused by a power surge.
An employee of the Independent Communications Network Limited, the publishers of TheNews, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said nobody was injured in the incident.
He, however, said the fire destroyed every equipment and property in the affected floor.
He said, “The fire was very ferocious. I think the fire was caused by power surge. When the power supply was restored, the voltage was high and some employees did not switch off their systems.”

This country is fast grinding to a halt. No facet of its corporate, human, political and economic existence is working; and nobody seems to care! And looking into the future there is no hope of solution to this myriad of problems. The only noisy and cacophonous sound one hears all the time is the agitation to be the nation's president, including the outrageous agitation by the lame-duck, incompetent and ineffective incumbent to come back for a second term when he has spent only ONE year in his present office! What an idiotic type of agitation! Maybe the solution to the present problem is to allow the nation to disintegrate and produce the consequential refugee problem! The associated suffering would then force Nigerians to begin to appreciate what nationhood means.
